Scrappy Day...

I was feeling creative today... I spent most of the day making scrapbook pages... I have so much fun with it... If you haven't done so, click the link on the left to check out my Scrappy Blog...

I also decided to take the next step in scrapping, submitted my work to be published!! I saw an open ad for a Scrapping Magazine and I submitted a cool page I had worked up about the Caggiano Generations... I loved the way it turned out...

Doing this page made me realize just how much my little girl has grown... This was one of the few times that we had the 5 generations in one place, and the only time that we were able to get a picture... It was also really cool to learn the origin of the last name, that is something I can pass on to the kids...

Tuesday at Last...

It's Tuesday... The weekend is over, not that I remember much of it since I was in a medicine head haze... It was such a beautiful weekend outside that we considered going to the beach, but the wind was whipping like crazy and it kept us away since we didn't want Me & Jojo to get more sick...

So we spent the weekend at home playing games, and having fun... Jerry was his usual awesome self and stepped up to the plate to take care of the house while I was incapacitated.. He is such a great husband and dad... I did dress up Joey in a cute little sweater vest & bandana.. He looked adorable... Jerry kept calling him the new "Fred from Scooby Doo"...

Our Memorial day was topped off with a great dinner cooked by Jer... Yummy Steak, baked potatoes and corn on the cob.. What more could you ask for???

Ohh yeah, entertainment... We watched 3 different movies this weekend because I wasn't feeling the shows the on the DVR... Friday was "The Book of Eli" which was strange, but good... I would recommend it if you are in the mood for an actiony/drama that keeps you guessing... Saturday I was feeling so crappy that I didn't want to think, so we decided it was the night to give "Tropic Thunder" a try... I laughed, alot... If you want a stupid movie to just laugh at, this is it... Yesterday we had "Kick-Ass" which I am still on the fence about... It wasn't a comedy but it wasn't an action movie.. What is the word for an Action-Comedy?? If you like comic book movies, you will like it...

Today was Jojo's 1 year doctors appointment also... He has grown so much in the past year.. He is now 30 inches long (that is 2 1/2 feet!!) and 27 & 1/2 pounds.. He also had to get 3 shots which left him grumpy and his little legs covered in band-aids.. my poor little man...

Other than that it is typical Tuesday afternoon at the Cagg's house...

The day after...

Joey's birthday is over... He was a grumpy little booger all day long since he wasn't feeling good, but we made the best of it and I think he had a blast...

He started the day by playing with some cool wrestling toys that I resurrected from a box in the garage... It was cool to see him having fun and banging the toys around... We played for a couple hours with them, which is unusually for Joey because he usually gets bored with a toy after about 10 minutes (with Tigger being the only exception)...

The best part of it all was watching him play by himself with them... He was being so creative, but knew just how to play with them... The end of the playing? When they all ganged up on him so that Hogan could get the 3 count...

After Daddy got home we had a quick dinner and then Grandpa, Grandma & Aunt Rachel came over for some cake and fun with Jojo... I had made a vanilla funfetti cake with chocolate peanut butter frosting and sprinkles earlier for Joey... It wasn't the best decorating job, but not bad for being exhausted and dealing with a sick baby... It didn't help that I left it on top of a hot toaster oven to set, so the frosting started melting! Ohh well, it tasted great and that is all that mattered..

He wasn't sure about the whole cake thing at first, but once he got a taste of it he loved it... It was a messy and adorable time...

He got some cool new toys, a chair, and some new clothes from all his family... A great first birthday... We wish all our family could have been here to enjoy it with us...

A case of Deja Vu...

Last Night a year ago Jerry & I spent most of the night in the hospital... My water had broken and I was having contractions, but we couldn't convince the doctor that I was in labor... It was a rough night for me and I didn't get much sleep at all... We ended up getting sent home late at night to try and get some rest since they wouldn't admit me... We were back at the hospital the next morning(a year ago today)...

Fast forward a year... Joey decided that on the anniversary of my water breaking I wasn't going to get any sleep either.... Except this time it was because the poor little man has a runny nose and the sniffles... He was up almost every hour on the dot because he couldn't breathe...

Of course when he is feeling sick all he wants is to cuddle... so after a long night of getting up and down I have the joy of a crabby almost toddler who wants to sit in my arms all day... If I don't accept and cuddle with him I am treated to a swift punch or kick from his vicious streak... So of course I accept and cuddle the day away...

Of course you wouldn't be able to tell now that he was sick and whiny all day... The moment his Daddy walked into the courtyard he was all perked up and ready to play... All smiles and laughs, but I can still see that nose running...

Just another day in the life of a Momma... I don't let it get me down... Gotta keep looking good, having fun, and enjoying the ride...

The fun of childhood

So today after school we went to the beach for a little bit. This is the first time Joey has been to the beach. I took his little socks off and plopped him on the sand. In typical Jojo the monkey boy fashion he stood there wiggling those little toes and laughing as the sand covered his little feet. When he finally realized this stuff was cool, he flopped on his little butt and started digging in sand.

The look on his face was so precious. It went from curiosity of what this stuff was to pure excitement when he realized he could grab it and throw it. The sand playing didn't last too long though, as Katie wanted to play in the water. I told her it was probably still cold, but she took her shoes off anyway and went strolling through the shoreline. Of course Joey did not like this one bit and got up and took off after her towards the water.

He didn't make it very far though. He got about a foot away from the water and stopped and started crying and yelling for Katie. He wanted to get her, but didn't want to go in the water. It was a fun day, and we had a blast. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so that we can go play in the water.

Video Cuteness

Why is being a mother of two kids so much harder than a mother of one? You would think it would be easy to add in another little ball of adorableness and it would be no sweat right? Wrong, but totally worth it. Katie's 3 week vacation from school is over today and she is back at school. It was a crazy, stressful, and fun 21 days, but I am glad to have some quiet around the house again.

Enjoy some video cuteness of Joey that I have captured on our new camera we got for Christmas. I don't want to brag, but my son is too dang cute.
