Next Generation Gamer

Jerry and I have rediscovered the fun of the X-Box...

This has led to Joey wanting to play too... Luckily we have an older controller that we don't care if it gets ruined.. Joey picked it up and started playing... What a cutie...

At one point he got so excited that he stood up and started bebooping up and down...

My little girl is growing up...

So this Saturday Katie will be flying to New York... by herself... I know that she can handle it and will be fine, but the Momma in me is freaking out... She is super excited and keeps telling me about all the fun things she is going to do with her Grandma & Pop-Pop...

This was all planned by my FIL Joe... He kept it a secret until after the tickets were bought and everything was final... Which is longer than we expected.. So when my MIL Marian found out, she was super thrilled.. Katie didn't know anything, and we let them give her the news...

As you can see, at first she freaked out... "I am going to miss You, Daddy and Joey" she balled to me... But once the initial fear was done with, she realized what that meant and she was super excited...

She has had her moments of up and down all this week. One minute she is crying because she will miss her brother.. the next she is laughing and jumping up and down because of all the fun she is going to have... I love my little drama queen... LOL

I just can't believe how grown up she is getting...

A day at the zoo

Katie, Joey and I decided today was a good day to use our Zoo passes and head out to the World Famous San Diego Zoo... We had a blast and boy were my legs TIRED after climbing all those hills... You can enjoy the trip with us because we took pictures of EVERYTHING!!

In the car and all ready to go... Off to the Zoo!!

Almost there!!

We made it!! Katie posing in front of the Elephant Topiary.

Katie decided first she wanted to go see the Polar Bears, which are on the other side of the zoo... So we waited in line to jump on the Ski-Fari...

Both of the kids loved it...

The view from the car is gorgeous. You don't realize just how much plant life they have until you see it all from above.. Got a great shot of Balboa Park in the distance too..

Katie made a good choice to pick the Polar Bears first, because they were out and playing like crazy.... Except for one guy who was sitting by himself eating a carrot.. LOL

This alligator sat there and stared at us and made Joey laugh until I got out my camera.. then he ran... Crikey..

Joey loved these ducks.. He kept laughing and trying to escape from his stroller so he could get them... so cute..

Katie was talking to this guy.. and he would chirp back at her!

The nursery had to sets of babies this time. A two-toed tree sloth, and a litter of 6 Marmosets... Both of them only a few months old..

Katie thought it was hilarious that there was a squirrel eating the Macaw's food...

Of course we had to visit our Meerkats... we love them...

Next we headed over to the Reptile area... This Komodo Dragon was at least 6 feet long!

Goldfish break!!

Joey loved the reptile house.. He kept laughing and jumping and saying "See it! See it!" ... He is most definitely my little boy...

This little guy was tiny! The whole thing could have fit in the palm of my hand...

We decided that these Tortoise are never going to beat the Hare if they keep being so dang lazy..

There was baby Flamingos.. They were cute little balls of grey fuzz...

This Peacock was so close he could have poked my camera... They just wander around the Zoo.. There was one with a baby, but it was acting very defensive. So we left it alone..

This Monkey made Katie sad... She read a sign that said that he eats other smaller animals... She was very upset and almost started crying.. Then she asked him "Why can't you just eat fruits and Vegatables?"

I told Katie I was going to trade her for this guy.. She was not happy... LOL

There were a bunch of Gorillas out... We decided the one leaning on the branch was Grandpa... And when one stuck his butt up to the glass, I just had to take a picture with Katie... The big silver back kept his back to the glass for most of the time, and I figured I cold get a cool profile pic... Only afterward did I realize he looked at me as I snapped the picture..

Just keep swimming... just keep swimming...

Last time we were at the Zoo, we saw Lucy the Orangutan.. She was there again today, but she was surrounded by a huge group of people.. So we went to another part of the glass to look at the other apes that were playing in the exhibit.. No sooner did Katie sit down, then Lucy got up and walked over to where she was at.. Lucy then sat down and starred at Katie.. It was an awesome experience...

Random Posing.. don't we look gorgeous??

This little guy was only 4 weeks old... so cute!

So much excitement he fell asleep which lead to everyone going "awww" as we walked by...

He kept eyeballing us.. thinking we were gonna steal his apple... I don't want your crusty apple bird.. chill... LOL

This snakes head was as big as my fist... She kept asking if he could get out...

The Tigers were actually out for once.. and I love my zoom!

I love this Otter.. he is going to eat you!!

This guy kept posing for me.. Doesn't he look cool?? Unfortunately this was the last picture taken, because my camera battery died... But we had a blast and I hope you enjoyed your Virtual Zoo trip!!
